The lab is located in the sub-basement of the Knapp building (87 East Ferry Ave.) that hosts the Institute of Gerontology. It is right next to the historic Freer House and across the street from the Inn on Ferry. The building is one block north of the Detroit Institute of Arts, and right off to the east of Woodward Avenue. The building can be accessed from East Ferry Ave. or from John R. Street.

Access

• From the parking lot off of John R. Street: Enter through the double doors of the Institute of Gerontology, through the brown double doors on the right, walk down the stairs (take them all the way down past the vending machines),and follow the signs to the Connect Lab.
• You can also enter the building from Ferry Street. Once in the building take the stairs or elevator all the way down to the sub basement and follow the signs to the Connect Lab.

Parking Information

• The parking lot requires a WSU pass card or cash payment to enter. We can arrange for you to park your car in the parking lot. Please notify us if you would like to use this option.
• You can also find non-metered 2-hour limit parking on East Ferry Ave., and metered parking on nearby streets. Be sure to read the signs.

From Eastbound I-94:
Exit at Woodward/John R.
Turn right on John R. (one way).
The parking lot is the first driveway on the right after Palmer Ave. (between the Knapp and Skillman buildings).

From Westbound I-94:
Exit at Woodward /Brush St. (the first exit after I-75).
Turn left on John R. (BP gas station on the corner).
Cross I-94, the service drive, and Palmer Ave. (You will see the back of the Knapp Building.)
The parking lot is the first driveway on the right after Palmer Ave. (between the Knapp and Skillman buildings).

From The Lodge (M-10):
Take the Lodge (M-10) to I-94 East.
Exit at the Woodward/John R. exit.
Turn right on John R. (one way).

Exit I-75 at Warren Ave.
Turn on Warren Ave. (going East: right from the North, left from the South).
Turn right (North) on Woodward Ave.
Turn right on Palmer Ave.
Turn right on John R. (one way).

From I-96:
Take I-96 to I-94 East.
Follow directions for Eastbound I-94.
